Never say never
The adage is well known and applies more often than you might think.
I was very attached to my provincial life, meaning its nature and space and not very comfortable in the city. I had a desire to see the world. I swore, as a rather naive teenager, that I would never live in a big city. Yet I did find in such a place my first job (and the ones that followed!); I made friends who are still friends today despite the distance and I met my husband and started a family.
But… in 2019, I’ve finally packed up my little family and moved back to the provinces. I found in the Auvergne region some roots and an environment that I’m happy with.
As a child, I never wondered what happiness was. I felt it with my family or while cycling with my friends along the little paths that lined the cornfields. As an adult and after a change in my life, I asked myself…
Create a professional activity that supports me and brings me fulfillment.
To have my head full of projects.
To see my family reunited and fulfilled.
To simply say to myself, one day without any particular event: “I’m happy here”.

The start of a project
As I am keen to promote my region and bring it to life, I started out with a project for a mobile rural grocery store. Although this project was validated, it didn’t come to fruition. I then put it aside to devote myself to the second project I had in mind, that of opening an eco-friendly cottage.
This project took shape at the same time as we were looking for a place to make our home.
Many hosts will say that they fell in love with their guest house or cottage. Me? no…! but I was pragmatic and this place ticked all the boxes (of my professional projects). The outbuildings, old stables, robust and healthy, could accommodate the cottage.
The beauty of the story is that, over the course of time spent planning the renovation, projecting my professional activity onto the site, tinkering with it, fitting it out according to my desires and values, bringing in local craftsmen who contributed their know-how, the cottage I had in mind from the very beginning took shape and became a beautiful reality.
It is a place that is welcoming to all, safe, conducive to relaxation and discovery, open to its environment and respectful in many ways. This is what I invite you to discover when you come and put down your bags for a wonderful change of scenery.
